Once a greyhound has completed the rearing process, a breaker/educator completes the important stage of teaching them to chase a lure, going around a turn and coming out of the boxes.

Pre-trainers complete the final stage of the education process, by teaching a dog to run against other dogs and compete over racing distances.
Trainers then nominate and race greyhounds at official race meetings and trial them, as required.
