We were promised support. We were told our industry would be backed — not phased out. Yet today, we’ve seen another Premier backflip on their word.
This is not just a policy change — it’s a breach of trust. It’s a slap in the face to every trainer, owner, breeder, punter, volunteer, and supporter who has poured their heart, soul, and livelihood into this sport.
Greyhound racing is not the problem. The problem is incompetent governments who make commitments they have no intention of keeping, playing politics with people’s livelihoods, and ignoring the facts about our sport, our welfare standards, and our contribution to the economy and regional communities.
We deserve better. Tasmania deserves leaders who stand by their word — not those who bow to misinformation and pressure.
The greyhound racing community will not be silenced, and we will not give up without a fight.
